Beinhauer Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services began with Louis Beinhauer when he opened his first mortuary in downtown Pittsburgh. Soon, Ferd Beinhauer began to expand by buying property and opening locations in South Shide and on Sixth Street. In 1952, our three story Mortuary located in Dormont burned down but was rebuilt as a chapel to serve the needs of the community. Since then, we have grown to open 6 locations across the Pittsburgh area.

Our visitation rooms have been tastefully decorated to ensure comfort and serenity at the time of a loss. Designed to be flexible in their use, our visitation rooms can accommodate everything from a traditional period of visitation to a more contemporary memorial visitation, or even a private family service.
COMMUNITY ROOMS
Available to the Public. Beinhauer offers use of the Community Rooms. The Community Rooms are located at our Peters Township home at 2820 Washington Road in McMurray. They are often used by families as a place to gather for a meal after the funeral service.

He graduated with honors from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, and has been a licensed funeral director since 1996.<br><br>Scott is currently the supervisor of the Beinhauer-Fryer Funeral & Cremation Service in Bridgeville. In 1999 Scott took on an added responsibility as Director of Funeral Operations for Beinhauer Family Services. This means Scott coordinates the day-to-day scheduling of staff and operations among the six locations that are family owned and operated by Beinhauer Family Services. <br><br>Residing in Peters Township with his wife, Tina and daughters, Emily, Madison, and Jocelyn, Scott is involved with the community as a member of the Lions Club, the Life Service Providers organization, Elks Lodge #2213, VFW Post 764 in McMurray, Board Member for the Bridgeville Public Library, The Wealth Builders BNI Chapter, Chamber of Commerce and the South Hills YMCA. Scott's also a fourth generation Rotarian. When he's not serving and caring for the community, he also enjoys hunting, fishing, playing sports, and spending quality time with his family.<br><br>Scott believes strongly in family values, personal commitment, and dedication. "The greatest satisfaction any funeral service can offer your family is individual, personalized service," Scott says.

There are, however healthy and effective ways to cope with it. <span style="font-weight: bold;">The Good Grief Center</span> is committed to helping others during difficult times. <br><br>The <span style="font-weight: bold;">Good Grief Center </span>is a community-based nonprofit organization located in Squirrel Hill. It is Pittsburgh's first and only comprehensive center for bereavement support. It helps individuals and families in Western Pennsylvania who are having a difficult time coping with the death of a loved one or pet Volunteers on staff are trained to understand grief and serve as educators, listeners, coaches in order to help clients along their healing journey. The services are free. Simply walk-in and schedule an appointment or talk by phone.<br>
