Fraxel Laser Resurfacing

Fraxel Laser Resurfacing

Cosmetic Laser CentersSM is proud to be one of the first physician offices in the Pittsburgh area to offer Fraxel laser treatments. Fraxel laser treatments have received vast national media coverage including on The TODAY Show with Katie Couric, Extreme Make Over, and The View to name a few. Locally, WTAE Channel 4 Action News reported a story on Fraxel which featured a patient of Cosmetic Laser CentersSM receiving a treatment. It also featured an interview with Dr. Krysinski.

Fraxel Laser treatments are designed to target aging and damaged skin by producing thousands of deep microscopic treatment zones. For every treatment zone, there are areas of surrounding tissue left intact. In other words, approximately 20% of the surface is treated at one time, leaving the surrounding area intact to help with a quicker recovery. This fractional ablation of tissue is important because it allows the skin to heal much quicker than if the entire area was treated. The fractional approach allows patients to have minimal if any downtime and return to their busy schedules almost immediately. Dr. Krysinski often relates Fraxel to aerating a lawn to promote new, healthy growth.

Thermage - Before & Afters

Cosmetic Laser CentersSM is proud to offer Thermage Thermacool. Thermage is a clinically proven, noninvasive treatment designed to smooth, tighten and contour skin without the downtime of surgery. Thermage uses radiofrequency technology that travels past the surface of the skin deep into the dermal layer which causes tightening of the existing collagen fibers and stimulates the production of new collagen. There is no incisions or downtime associated with Thermage, so patients do not have to plan time off from their busy schedules. Thermage Thermacool is safe for patients of all skin types.

Thermage has received vast media coverage since its 2002 FDA approval. Nationally it has been seen on the Oprah Winfrey show, Entertainment Tonight, and the Jane Pauley show. It has been seen in top magazines such as Vogue (May 2003) and Oprah Magazine (July 2007). Locally, Cosmetic Laser CentersSM Dr. Terrance Krysinski was featured performing a Thermage treatment for Channel 4 Action News in 2004.

Botox Before & After

BOTOX Cosmetic was FDA approved in 2002 for the temporary reduction of moderate to severe frown lines. Since then it has become the most popular physician-administered aesthetic procedure in the United States according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Over 3.3 million treatments were performed in 2005.

BOTOX Cosmetic treats wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement. As we age we begin to get creases, also know as wrinkles in our skin. The areas of the face associated with facial expression are often the first areas to show these creases because the muscles under the skin are continually creasing the skin during expression. Because these wrinkles are based upon muscle movement they are considered dynamic wrinkles and can be effectively treated with BOTOX Cosmetic. BOTOX Cosmetic relaxes these muscles, therefore, diminishing the wrinkles.

Facial Fillers Restylane

Restylane been used worldwide since 1996 and was the first Hyaluronic acid dermal filler approved for cosmetic use in the United States. It has been used in over 1.4 million treatments in the United States and 4 million worldwide.

Restylane is a cosmetic dermal filler made of Hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body. This allows patients to be treated without requiring an allergy test. The Hyaluronic acid in Restylane is crystal clear and nonanimal based so it is biocompatible with human Hyaluronic acid.

Restylane holds its shape by using the body's own moisture because Hyaluronic acid is water loving. It is this capability that allows Restylane to offer its long lasting results. Restylane lasts about six months.

Laser Hair Removal

Excess and unwanted hair is a common problem for both men and women. Luckily, advanced laser technologies are putting an end to tiresome tweezing, waxing, shaving, depilatory creams and electrolysis.

At Cosmetic Laser CentersSM we use the Lumenis LightSheer 810nm Diode laser which is often referred to as the GOLD STANDARD in laser hair removal. By using this state of the art technology, we use the wavelength that is best absorbed by the hair shaft and follicle while protecting the surface of the skin from heat damage.

Laser hair removal is effective because it blocks the hair follicles regrowth potential while protecting the surrounding tissue. It does this by sending its light energy down through the skin into the follicle where it creates heat which destroys the follicle while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. The LightSheer targets numerous follicles at once allowing for quick and effective treatments.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Cosmetic Laser CentersSM proudly offers Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photorejuvenation. IPL technology is often used to address the most visible conditions of our patients. IPL Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that gently corrects the effects of photo-aging and sun damage. It also treats a wide variety of facial concerns such as broken capillaries, age spots, benign brown spots, sun-induced freckles, mottled pigmentation, and rosacea. It is a noninvasive solution that can be tailored to each individual patient's needs.

ClearLight Acne Treatment

The CLEARLight system is a photodynamic instrument that uses blue-violet light waves which penetrate your skin and directly kill the bacteria that lead to inflammatory acne. These light waves also stimulate your body's own bacteria fighting porphyrins which kill additional bacteria and remain activated to give a lasting bacterial killing effect even after treatment is ended. This combined effect provides a drug-free option for treatment of acne.
