Patients visit an allergist/immunologist if they:
1. Have infectious rhinosinusitis.
2. Have any of the following warning signs:
8 or more new infections within one year.
2 or more serious sinus infections in one year.
2 or more months taking antibiotics with no improvement.
2 or more pneumonias in one year.
An infant who doesn't gain weight or grow in a normal fashion.
Recurring deep skin or organ abscesses..
Persistent thrush in your mouth or elsewhere on your skin after age 1.
Need for antibiotics given intravenously to clear infections.
2 or more serious infections.
A history of immune deficiency in the family.
