Gardner Moving was established in 1914 by Louis Gardner in a barn and wagon on the South Side of Pittsburgh. In that time, Louis and his team delivered coal and hauled freight to the railyards. Joseph Gardner took over the company in 1955 where he converted the barn and stable into a large parking garage servicing South Side and the surrounding areas.
It was in 1966 that the company moved to its current location in McDonald where Joseph and his brother Mike built a warehouse, office, and self-storage facility. Currently, the Gardner family is in its fourth generation of business and still servicing the Pittsburgh area with moving and storage services.
