RMC Memorial Foundation is a non profit foundation. It was created in order to build organ donor awareness and provide financial support to children facing medical needs within the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh.
The RMC (Robert Martin Conley, Jr.) Memorial Foundation (501c3*) is a memorial reminder for a father, brother, colleague, and friend. Robert was raised in Wilkinsburg. He was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Robert made his living as a Certified Public Accountant. He had two sons, Ryan M. and Patrick F. Conley. Facing life-threatening illnesses with cirrhosis along with liver cancer, Robert was placed on a transplant list for a liver. Unfortunately, he was unable to obtain a liver because of financial and medical complications. Sadly, Robert passed away on November 3, 2000.
The goal of The RMC Memorial Foundation is to create an awareness of transplant donations in order to assist local families who have children in need of financial assistance. The entire transplant process can bring many hardships for families. The RMC Memorial Foundation is focused on Helping Other People Enjoy life. (H.O. P. E.)
This year's H.O.P.E Golf Classic recipient Eight year old Nicholas Swinehart. Diagnosed at birth with Malrotation Volus (twisting of the bowel), he received his first transplant liver and small bowel at 6 months of age. Facing liver failure, he received his second transplant in 2006, which included liver, stomach, pancreas, and small bowel.
Today Nicholas continues to battle while amazing his family and the medical community. He has been classified as a "true miracle." Facing ongoing medical treatments and expenses together, we can offer H.O.P. E. so that Nicholas can continue to receive the proper medical care.
