We offer a wide selection of equipment for our commercial customers' needs, including stair glides, incline platform lifts, vertical wheelchair lifts, elevators, and LULAs. Short term and long term ramp rental is also available.
Schools, churches, nursing homes, office buildings, hospitals and various other public places have been and continue to be our valued clients. In addition, we work with companies to resolve various Workers' Compensation claims.

Independent Mobility is a family-owned and operated company that has been serving customers faithfully for over 21 years. Sylvester Lapinski proudly runs his business with passion and confidence that is supported by 35 years of construction experience and 25 years of industry proficiency. The Company is also fully insured and is a current member of the Better Business Bureau, in good standing.
To insure a high level of service quality the Independent Mobility staff works closely with its clients and their caregivers. The process is started with a thorough evaluation of the current situation, and followed through by recommending a lift that is best suited to the individual's needs and physical abilities. Independent Mobility works with a variety of manufacturers giving its clients the luxury of choosing a lift that will best suit their personal situation.
Once a client chooses a lift, installation arrangements are made for a time that is convenient for the client. Next day installation can usually be arranged. Two trusted Independent Mobility technicians then arrive at the location and spend approximately an hour and a half performing the installation. Employees are easily identifiable by their company shirts, so clients can feel safe in the workers' presence. The installers also make sure to give each client a thorough orientation on the product's use.
Independent Mobility is proud to serve many valued customers in the greater tri-state area. Installations are made throughout all of Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Eastern Ohio. Products can also be shipped anywhere in the world.
Independent Mobility accepts credit cards, personal checks, money orders, bank drafts and/or cash. Payment is usually expected at the time of installation.
Try it before you buy it – Independent Mobility offers an excellent choice for those customers who are hesitant about their selection. We can install the lift at your location and let you try it out while we wait – if you are not satisfied with the product, we then uninstall it right away, no payment required, no questions asked. If, after trying it out, you decide to keep the lift, we will then ask for payment. This is a great option for your peace of mind!
At a point in life when peace of mind is invaluable to you and your family, Independent Mobility offers the quality products and expert service you deserve. A wide range of mobility equipment is available to fit the needs of our customers. From stairway lifts to bath lifts and aluminum ramps, from hill trams to residential elevators and wheelchair lifts, an Independent Mobility representative will work with you to help you select the best equipment for your family's needs. We offer a free in-home evaluation to all of our clients, with no obligation or pressure to buy.
Independent Mobility technicians have been thoroughly trained to perform routine maintenance on installed equipment as well as do any warranty work that may become necessary. We also service lifts that were not originally installed by us. The warranty period differs with different manufacturers, so please contact us for further details. Independent Mobility also guarantees all installation jobs for a period of one year from date of completion. Our technicians will replace or repair any defective parts and perform maintenance during regular service hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
For customers who need a lift for only a short period of time, we offer a rental program. A straight stairway lift can be rented for $125 per month, with a three-month minimum. There is also a $125 installation fee. If, after renting from us, you decide to buy the lift, the first three months' rent can be applied towards the purchase price.
Many customers ask us if we will buy a gently used lift from them. Independent Mobility will buy back a used lift for reasonable negotiated price. If another buyer has already been found for the lift, we will uninstall it and re-install it at the new location for $400.
